The data controller is the IIC, a public international organization with headquarters at 1350 New York Avenue, NW, Washington DC, 20577.
We may choose to collect personal information from you via the Site through the use of inquiry and registration forms and every time you e-mail us your details. Such information may include your name, contact information, and information about your investment requirements and the type of investments you seek. We may also collect information automatically about your visit to the Site. Any such information gathering will be for internal purposes only.
You also may provide Content on the Site, or transmitted to other Users of the Site or third parties. Your Content is posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although you may set certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your Allowable User Identity, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other Users or General Users of the Site with whom you may choose to share your Content. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your Content will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
Use and disclosure of personal information
We may process personal information collected via the Site for the purposes of (i) conducting market consultation exercises and (ii) providing you with information about new developments on or any changes to the services provided via the Site.
We may also use information in aggregate form (so that no individual User or General User is identified) (i) to build up marketing profiles; (ii) to aid strategic development; (iii) to manage our relationship with Investors, Enterprises, Third Party Service Providers and ESOs; and/or (iv) to audit usage of the Site; and/or (envy). We may share information with interested third parties to help them understand the usage patterns on InvestAmericas.
We may disclose your personal information to our affiliates and other third parties when (i) we are compelled by law or a court order to do so, or if (ii) we believe that such action is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the IIC, to protect and defend the rights, property or safety of the IIC, the Site, Users and General Users to the Site or others; or (iii) we provide the Services or any portion of them through third parties. For example, we may use a third party to distribute a publication and if you have told us that you wish to receive a publication, that third party would need your mailing address. They would only be allowed to use your mailing address for the purpose of sending you the relevant publication and they will not be allowed to market to you. In all cases, the disclosure is made with your consent.
We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of the IIC (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers). We have adopted security measures to protect such information.
Law enforcement authorities
We may, in our discretion, contact law enforcement authorities if we believe that anything unlawful is occurring in connection with the Site. In this process, we may provide the law enforcement authorities with any personal data that is held by us.
The IIC reserves the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint, subpoena, warrant, court order or legal action. The IIC may log all internet protocol addresses accessing the Services and other information about Users' and General Users' access, and maintain backup copies of Content indefinitely and disclose that such information to law enforcement authorities as required.
Different types of cookies let you move around the website and use essential features like secure areas, shopping baskets and online billing. These cookies do not gather any information about you that could be used for marketing or remembering where you have been on the internet.
We use functional cookies to (i) remember things like information you've entered on order forms when you navigate to different pages in a single web browser session, (ii) remember the goods and services you ordered when you get to the checkout page, (iii) identify you as being logged in, and (iv) make sure you connect to the right service on our Site when we make any changes to the way the Site works.

The Service may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the Content, accuracy or opinions expressed in such websites, and such websites are not investigated, monitored or checked for accuracy or completeness by us.

You must be 18 years or older to use and register in the Site. The IIC does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register with the Service. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a person under the age of 13, please contact us as described below.
